Sustainability –Action or empty commitments?

Welcome to a public seminar Sustainability -Action or empty commitments? organised by Viikki Tropical Resources Institute and Dep. of Forest Sciences, University of Helsinki.

Climate change is just one of many sustainability problems that the world faces. It has been argued that if we want to overcome the systemic issues behind today’s problems, we need to change the thinking that led to them. The keynote speakers and panelists answer to the following questions: Do we have commitment issues? Are commitments Band-Aids or solutions? Binding or non-binding - Who cares? What kind of trade-offs and synergies there are with different commitments and goals?
